AAIPharma Announces Vice President of Clinical Business Development, EuropeWilmington, N.C., September 3, 2007 -- AAIPharma Inc. announced today the appointment of Dr. Ralf Wulkow M.D. to the position of Vice President of Clinical Business Development, Europe. With over eighteen years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, Dr Wulkow will be responsible for all clinical business development activities in Europe. Dr. Wulkow comes to AAIPharma from Quintiles GmbH, where he served as Senior Director, Customer Relationship Management. In this role, he specialized in developing, managing and expanding preferred relationships with mid-sized pharmaceutical and biotech customers. Prior to this, he served as Director, Strategic Clinical Development. His previous leadership positions within Quintiles include Medical Director, Infectious Diseases Business Unit, and Director, Cardiovascular Therapeutics. During his time at Innovex GmbH, he was Head of Clinical Research Germany (Ph II-IV) where he successfully managed the team of 120 CRAs, field based monitors, medical advisors and regulatory specialists. Dr Wulkow is an M.D. and Clinical Pharmacologist by training. He acted as Principle Investigator in numerous clinical studies for Biodesign GmbH, e.g. pivotal phase III studies in CHF, osteoporosis and renal transplantation. “I am delighted that Ralf Wulkow is joining our leadership team in Europe,†stated Dr. Ludo Reynders, President and CEO. “His extensive knowledge and experience in international clinical development in terms of both business and operational requirements is extremely important to AAIPharma at this stage in the Company.
