Executive LeadershipLudo Reynders, Ph.D.President and CEO
Ludo Reynders, Ph.D. joined the Company in 2004 as the President and Chief Executive Officer. A former director and officer of Quintiles Transnational Corp., Dr. Reynders began his career with Bristol Myers, where he held various positions in clinical development. He joined Quintiles in 1988, and as Managing Director of Quintiles-Europe, was largely responsible for the growth of its European operations. During rapid global growth, Dr. Reynders was CEO of Quintiles Product Development Services as well as CEO of Clinical Development Services. In addition, Dr. Reynders was Managing Director of the PharmaBio group of Quintiles Transnational Corp. from 2002 to 2003.
Scott NeilsonChief Operations Officer
Scott Neilson is an accomplished leader with over 25 years multi-functional experience in all phases of drug development on a worldwide level. For the past 10 years he has led the turnaround of two of the top six Global Central Laboratories, dramatically improving market share, revenues and profitability. He has also held senior operations positions in Clinical Research and has a broad spectrum of functional experience including Finance, Regulatory Affairs, Human Resources and Manufacturing. His experience spans pharmaceuticals and CRO's having worked at MDS Pharma Services, LabCorp, Covance and SmithKline Beecham (now GlaxoSmithKline).
Al CavagnaroVice President, Corporate Legal Affairs
Al Cavagnaro serves AAIPharma as Vice President, Corporate Legal Affairs. He joined the Company in 1993, and until 2002 has held various positions in the Company's legal department. From 2002 to 2005, Mr. Cavagnaro served AAIPharma as the Company's Corporate Secretary, working in the Office of the Chairman of the Board. In 2005, he returned to the legal department as Assistant General Counsel and Secretary for AAIPharma. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Cavagnaro practiced law with the law firm Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice in Raleigh, North Carolina. Previously, he served in the U.S. Navy Supply Corps.
John Hall, Ph.DPresident, European Operations
John Hall, Ph.D. joined AAIPharma in May 2006 as President of European Operations. Prior to joining the Company, Dr. Hall served as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development for PharmaBio Development, Inc., a subsidiary of Quintiles Transnational Corp. Previously, he served Quintiles Limited as General Manager, responsible for growing European non-clinical operations and latterly responsible for relationships with the company's European mid-sized and international Japanese accounts. Additional leadership positions held by Dr. Hall include Owner and Managing Director of Pharmacophore, a pharmaceutical and biotechnology product development management consulting firm, Senior Director of European Pre-Clinical Development for Searle, and Manager of Marketing Development for Monsanto Company's Health Care Division.
Lee KarrasSr. Vice President of Global Pharmaceutical Services
Lee Karras brings over 17 years of pharmaceutical industry experience and knowledge to AAIPharma Inc where he serves as Sr. Vice President of Global Pharmaceutical Services responsible for the growth and operational excellence of its global contract pharmaceutical services franchise. Before joining AAIPharma, Lee served as vice president of contract services for Baxter Healthcare Corporation where he was responsible for directing the business strategy, design, implementation, development, and operation of over $300MM in manufacturing and drug development assets in support of one of the largest contract manufacturing/service businesses in the world.
An accomplished leader, Lee has developed win-win pharmaceutical service and supply relationships with many of the top pharma and biotech companies in the world including some of today's most successful drug therapies. Lee also directed the conceptual business strategy, formal design and implementation of the ISPE 2005 Facility of the Year award winning pharmaceutical plant. Lee holds a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry and Masters' Degree in Environmental Science from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.
Ronald NortonVice President of Exploratory Development
Ronald Norton joined AAIPharma in January 2008 and serves as Vice President of Exploratory Development responsible for leading Early Clinical Development and Bioanalysis. Ronald brings over 20 years of experience in the industry at both Pharmaceuticals Companies and Contract Research Organizations. An accomplished leader his vision and expertise were instrumental in successful business and drug development projects and at Glaxo Wellcome and MDS Pharma Services. His focus and experience are in clinical drug development, pharmacokinetics and drug metabolism, and pharmacogenetics as well as personnel, operational, and financial management. In past roles with Glaxo Wellcome and MDS Pharma Services, Ronald was responsible for the oversight of clinical trials across a variety of therapeutic areas. In these roles he interacted with key executives at the sponsoring companies to ensure performance and financial objectives were met.
He has been published in Neuropsychopharmacology, Drug Development Research, and Stroke, as well as other peer-reviewed journals and trade industry publications. In addition, he served as a corporate director of DNA Sciences, a UK clinical genetics laboratory, chaired the AAPS Pharmacogenomics Focus Group, and served as a member of the Task Force for Genomics and Public Health with the North Carolina Department ofHealth and Human Services.
Ronald received his BS from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. He completed postgraduate studies in Clinical Pharmacology, Drug Development and Regulation at Tufts University and in Methods of Genetic Analysis for Genetic Researchers at the Duke University Center for Human Genetics.

Krista Stephenson
Vice President of Clinical Operations
Krista Stephenson joined AAIPharma in May 2008 as Vice President of Clinical Operations. She has 19 years of experience in the clinical development industry. During the last 12 years, she was at PPD where she held a number of increasingly senior roles during a period of rapid expansion. Prior to that, Krista was Manager Client Services with AR Kamm Associates in Cary, NC and began her career as a Clinical Research Associate with Clintrials in RTP, NC. She has a BS in Zoology from NC State University, and a Medical Technology degree and MBA from Meredith College.
John HarringtonExecutive Vice President, Human Resources
John Harrington joined AAIPharma in 2004, and serves as Executive Vice President of Human Resources. Mr. Harrington served as Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Quintiles Transnational Corp. from 2000 through 2004 and head of Worldwide Human Resources for Quintiles from 1997 through December 1999. Mr. Harrington was previously European Director of HR for Syntex, a Palo Alto based pharmaceutical company. Prior to joining the pharmaceutical industry, Mr. Harrington held a number of increasingly senior HR posts with British Petroleum over a 20-year period.
